Alvino Maestri is a postdoc at the Institute for HIV Research. He completed his medical training in 2011 at Federal University of Para, Belem, Brazil followed by the Medical Residence in Infectious Disease completed in 2016 at Emilio Ribas Institute, in São Paulo, Brazil. During his medical studies he was selected for his PhD with emphasis in Genetic and Molecular Biology in patients with pandemic Flu. He concluded his PhD in 2015 and in 2016 has started a post doctorate fellowship focused in Zika virus immunology at University of Sao Paulo. In the last 2 years, he worked in Phase II and III Clinical Trial of the Dengue vaccine – Instituto Butantan as a Coordinator of the Medical Team, at the Clinical Research Center of University of São Paulo. He also worked in clinical trials focused in HIV and others Arbovirus.
