Bruce Schultz

bruce22Bruce Schultz is a Medical Technician Laboratory Assistant (MTLA) at the Institute for HIV Research at the University Hospital Essen. He completed his undergraduate coursework in 2012 from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science, focusing on Biochemistry. During his studies, he worked with Dr. Daniel Bochar on characterizing the interactions of Chromodomain Helicase DNA Binding Protein 8 (CHD8) and its influence on regulating eukaryotic gene expression.  He later worked with Dr. Matthew Young on optimizing the interactions of a protease inhibitor using computational chemistry. After graduation, he joined the Streeck Lab at the Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) to begin research on CD4 T Cells and their role in controlling HIV infection. Bruce plans to attend graduate school in the near future to obtain a masters in Biostatistics.
