Enrico Richter is a PhD student at the Institute for HIV Research at the University Hospital Essen. In 2015 he completed his studies in Biology as a Master of Science (M.Sc.) at the Heinrich-Heine University in Düsseldorf. During his Master’s studies at Prof. A. Mankertz’s Department 12 for Measles, Mumps and Rubella at the Robert Koch-Institute in Berlin, he investigated the role of the MAPK/ERK pathway in context of a mumps virus infection. He joined the Institute for HIV Research in February 2016 and is now working on the role of CD4+ T cells during HIV infection with a special interest in the mechanisms of the CD4+ T cell mediated cytolysis.
